Hello all!!

I hope everyone is having a lacker day! I’m currently in Jeffrey’s Bay, South Africa, our second country on this incredible journey to spread God’s love and make his name known.

Now let me address the elephant in the room and give y’all some news on our route that I probably should’ve shared earlier, our route changed. We were originally supposed to go to Cambodia for our second country and Eswatini for our third country but instead we’re here in Jeffrey’s Bay, South Africa for our second country and our third and final country will be Romania.

So yeah, sorry it’s taken me so long to tell y’all this. We found out a out this change way back in October when we were still working with Samaritan’s Purse. But now you know so let’s move on.

Jeffrey’s Bay, South Africa is an incredibly beautiful place. The base we’re staying at has some incredible views whenever it’s a sunny day and whenever I look around, I always feel so blessed to be here a d to experience more of God’s beautiful creation, He’s so good.

The base we’re staying at is a school called Global Leadership Academy. It’s an awesome school with Jesus at the center of it. The main focus of this school is to create leaders and provide students with great education to set them up for a great future, which I love so much.

The ministry that me and my team, El Perseguido, are doing is all kinds of manual labor; things like finishing the varnish on the outside of the building, which if you don’t know what that is it’s painting this sealant on the bricks to waterproof them. Doing this will help them last longer. Other things we’ve been doing is chopping up bushes in this large field a couple hundred yards away from the school. We cleared out specific areas where houses will be built and eventually, an entire village will be built here where the people who work at the school will live. For a few days we also painted a track on this large field right next to the school. We actually had to paint around half of it by hand because this machine that was being used to paint the lines in a much easier way, unfortunately broke so we had to paint the rest by hand. And I actually had a fun time doing this, I don’t know why, it just felt fun, maybe it was the holy spirit or something.

A few other things we’ve done was transported some cow manure and dead plants to this other field on the school’s property. The plan is to make compost with these things to use to make a grassy field for the school to use, I’m not sure what the exact plan is for this field though. We’ve also done some gardening, organizing and making this storage shed behind the school neat, and helping out with this track day the school had. A day or two after we finished painting the field, the school had a huge track meet with all the students participating. Me and my team helped out with certain events like races, shot put, long jump etc.

I want to talk about our ministry host. His name is Lucas. He’s in charge of all the physical work that needs to be done around the school. He’s an awesome guy to work with. My favorite part about him the the extensive wisdom and knowledge he has of God, the Bible, and so much more. And he loves to talk about these things. There will sometimes be moments when we’re in the middle of working and he’ll start randomly sharing things about his testimony or teach us something based on something he experienced in the past. He also has an assistant named Daniel who works with us and he’s awesome as well. He’s a very nice and fun guy to be around. He’s actually younger than everyone on our team, he’s 17 now and will be 18 in a month or two. It’s such a privilege to work with these two guys and I love every second of it.

So yeah, that pretty much sums up everything we’ve been up to here in South Africa. But there’s still so much more to come and I can’t wait for it. I know God had do much in store for me, the team, and this squad.

Caleb.

Who knows what the future holds when it’s in God’s hand?

  1. Caleb, you are Christ centered and it shows. When you write, it is such a visual thing, which is up my alley. It’s as if I am there with you. And your writing has such joy. You would make an amazing travel writer.

  2. Caleb, You fellas have been busy! Sounds like the investment you’re making in and around Global Leadership Academy will reap dividends for years to come. I know you are a blessing to them, and sounds like these relationships with Lucas and Daniel are life-giving all the way around! Treasure these days of hard work for kingdom purposes; some day you will wish to return to them, heat and all. Blessings and greetings to all of El Perseguido; praying for you from here!
